About the role
Syncron is seeking a Business Analyst with deep Warranty domain expertise to support the company’s Warranty product through a period of investment and innovation.
This role will work closely with Product Management, Engineering, customers, and implementation teams to turn complex warranty processes, operational logic and customer requirements into clear, scalable product capabilities.
A critical part of the role will be identifying the underlying patterns within different customers' warranty processes: taking complex and often highly variable business rules and translating them into coherent, understandable and repeatable product requirements that can serve the wider market rather than a single customer.
The Business Analyst will report to the Product Lead for Warranty and work across global teams and customers.
What would you do?
Business & Domain Analysis:
· Requirements and Gap Analysis: Lead detailed discovery and gap analyses across customer processes, product capabilities and market requirements. Translate complex business needs into clear functional requirements, process flows, user stories and acceptance criteria that can be understood and acted upon by Product and Engineering.
· Complexity to Product: Understand complex operational processes and business logic, identify the common patterns beneath customer-specific variations, and translate them into coherent and understandable product requirements. Help turn variable business logic into repeatable, configurable and scalable product capabilities, avoiding bespoke solutions wherever possible.
· Discovery: Work with Product Managers, customers, implementation teams and subject-matter experts to ensure candidate capabilities are well understood before they enter the backlog. Challenge customer-specific requirements to uncover the underlying business need and distinguish genuinely different requirements from variations of a common problem.
Domain Expertise & Delivery Support:
· Warranty Expertise: Act as a subject-matter expert for warranty management processes, including claims, entitlements, policies, adjudication, supplier recovery, failure/cause analysis and related service workflows. Where warranty expertise is broader rather than deep, bring strong Field Service Management expertise and the ability to rapidly build mastery of warranty.
· Solution Analysis: Work closely with Product and Engineering to analyse proposed solutions, integrations and data requirements. Identify dependencies, edge cases, risks and process impacts before development begins, and support teams in resolving domain questions during delivery.
· Customer and Stakeholder Engagement: Work directly with customers and stakeholders across multiple timezones and cultures, including workshops and onsite discovery where required. Be willing and able to travel internationally to support customer, market and product discovery.
Research & Collaboration:
· Market Intelligence: Maintain a strong understanding of warranty and service-management trends, competitors, regulation, operating models and emerging technologies. Turn research into concise insights that inform product strategy and prioritisation.
· Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with Product Management, Engineering, Design, Research, Professional Services and customer-facing teams. Provide the analytical and domain depth needed to help teams make good decisions quickly and consistently.
Metrics & Analytics:
· KPI Analysis: Define, analyse and interpret operational and product KPIs across warranty and service processes. Use quantitative and qualitative data to identify performance gaps, root causes, trends and opportunities for improvement.
Data-Driven Insight: Build clear analyses and recommendations from incomplete or imperfect data. Communicate findings through concise reports, dashboards and narratives that help Product and business stakeholders make decisions
What we expect
· You have 3-6 years of experience in business analysis, product analysis, consulting, implementation or a related role in complex B2B software or industrial/service environments. Experience working with SaaS products and cross-functional technology teams is strongly preferred.
· You have deep domain experience in Warranty Management. Experience may come from an OEM, manufacturer, warranty software provider, consulting/implementation organisation or a closely related environment. Candidates with strong Field Service Management expertise and meaningful exposure to warranty processes will also be considered.
· You are exceptionally good at making complexity simple. You can take complicated operational processes, business rules and domain-specific terminology and structure them into something that Product, Engineering and customers can understand.
· You naturally look for patterns and abstractions. When different customers appear to have different requirements, you can identify what is genuinely unique, what is simply a variation of the same underlying problem, and how those needs could be addressed through configurable and reusable product capabilities.
· You understand the difference between building software for a customer and building a product for a market. You can work deeply with individual customers without allowing their specific processes to dictate bespoke product design.
· You are collaborative and empathic. You work effectively with Product Managers, engineers, implementation teams, domain experts and customers, and are comfortable influencing without formal authority.
· You are data literate. You can define and analyse KPIs, interrogate data, identify patterns and turn findings into useful recommendations without getting stuck in analysis paralysis - especially when data is incomplete.
· You are customer- and market-centric. You can distinguish an individual customer request from a repeatable market need, while still understanding the operational detail that makes warranty and service processes complex.
· You are willing to travel, including internationally, for customer workshops, discovery and domain research when required. You have a never-ending desire to grow and learn.
