About the role
We are looking for a highly motivated Senior Product Owner to lead the development of capabilities that enable Data Scientists to seamlessly build, deploy, and monitor Machine Learning (ML) models at scale. This role is critical to our mission of enabling superior decision-making by providing robust, end-to-end ML workflow tools that enhance productivity and scalability for both internal and external Data Scientists. The ideal candidate will combine technical expertise, product ownership experience, and a deep understanding of data science and machine learning operations (MLOps).
What would you do?
Product Management:
- Define and execute a cohesive vision for tools and capabilities that optimize the ML model lifecycle—from development and deployment to real-time monitoring and performance optimization.
- Stay abreast of industry advancements in MLOps, cloud-native ML frameworks, and AI governance to ensure the platform remains cutting-edge and competitive.
Stakeholder Collaboration:
- Collaborate with Developers, Data Scientists, Machine Learning Engineers, and business stakeholders to identify pain points and prioritize solutions that maximize productivity and scalability.
- Collaborate with client-facing teams to understand the challenges and requirements of client Data Scientists and tailor solutions accordingly.
- Facilitate workshops and discussions to gather feedback, refine requirements, and align roadmap priorities
User Advocacy & Analytics:
- Drive a user-centric approach to product development, ensuring tools are intuitive for both advanced Data Scientists and business analysts.
- Conduct regular feedback loops with internal and client users to refine and enhance features.
- Define success metrics for internal adoption (e.g., time-to-deployment, number of operational models) and client satisfaction (e.g., ease of use, reliability
Leadership:
- Innovation: Keep abreast of industry trends, bring in new technologies, and technically innovate to ensure the platform remains in front.
- Strategy: Alongside the VP of your area, develop and communicate a product roadmap, prioritising improvements that are in line with the strategic directionand vision of the company.
- Communication: Work with stakeholders across multiple timezones and cultures to ensure product sucess across all relevant markets
Team Development:
- Best Practice: Master product discipline, practice, and process to build a culture that is continuously improving and sets the bar for excellence.
- Collaboration: Work closely with engineering, design and research teams to ensure product management processes are cross-functional and help the company achieve its’ wider aims.
Metrics & Analytics:
- Performance Tracking: Define, track, and analyse key metrics to ensure the product is successful and features are genuinely delivering value.
- Data-Driven Decisions: Drive continuous improvement of the product using insights learned from the data on performance.
Who you are? / What we expect:
Education:
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
Experience:
- 5+ years of experience as a Product Owner, Product Manager, or similar role in data platforms, data science or related products.
- Proven experience to define product roadmaps and translate business requirements into technical specifications
- Exceptional ability to work with diverse stakeholders, translating technical requirements into actionable user stories.
Technical Skills:
- In-depth knowledge of the ML model lifecycle, including development, training, deployment, and monitoring.
- Useful (but not necessary) to understand data science workflows, tools, and methodologies (e.g., Python, R, SQL, TensorFlow, PyTorch).
- Familiarity with MLOps practices, including model lifecycle management, CI/CD for ML, and orchestration tools like Airflow or Mage.ai.
- Familiarity with common Data Science Tools like Jypyter Notebooks
- Strong understanding of MLOPS tools such as (MLFlow, Sagemaker, Databricks, Kubeflow etc)
